ATLAS manure fork handle or tine handle of ash wood, bent model with a length of 160 cm, fitted with a spring ferrule and a drilled hole. Suitable for forks with a pin connection.

ATLAS fork handles are made from ash trunk sections, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process sawn ash planks are air-dried. During the second process the ash wood is re-dried in a climate chamber controlled by computer. Because of the re-drying the handle does not shrink, tools remain firmly fixed to the handle.

Next, the ATLAS fork handles are bent in boiling water. This causes the wood grain or fiber in the handle to bend along and prevents the grain from running out of the handle (a running-out grain is weaker). The bending process makes the handle extremely strong.

Finally the ATLAS handle is waxed with the vegetable Carnauba. This ensures the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt and retains its attractive natural color. The waxing provides a longer lifespan and a pleasant smooth handle, preventing blisters. Moreover, waxing handles with a vegetable wax is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
