Scoop shovel RUHR BRILLANT Holsteiner model with socket setting 3/4 upturned and blade size 00, supplied complete with strongly bent ATLAS gooseneck shovel handle, length 95 cm. The hardened blade is red lacquered and has a bright-polished, sharp cutting edge.
The ESSEN ATLAS gooseneck shovel handle is made from ash rootstocks, which contain the finest wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood has been re-dried in a climate chamber under computer control. As a result, the handle does not shrink, tools remain firmly attached to the handle, and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or staples. Additionally, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based carnauba wax, which increases durability and gives a pleasant smooth handle that helps prevent blisters.
Explanation of socket angle
The socket angle indicates the angle relative to the blade. The higher the socket angle, the more the socket is tilted. This determines whether a shovel or spade is designed for stabbing or for scooping. The socket angle is measured from the ground to the socket when the blade is lying flat on the ground.
Straight: the handle is almost straight on the blade
1/4: the socket is bent up 35 mm, for example for digging shovels
1/2: the socket is bent up 55 mm, for example for scoop shovels and concrete shovels
3/4: the socket is bent up 70cm, for example for scoop shovels and deep shovels
Explanation of blade width
In the past there were blade widths that ran from number 2 down to 0, where 2 was the largest. Over time the blades had to be made smaller because of working conditions and smaller sizes were introduced.
