ATLAS engineer's hammer handle made of ash wood for a 300-gram engineer's hammer, with head size 12.5 x 21.5 mm and length 30 cm. Due to the oval shape of the handle, the hammer head always aligns in the correct striking direction. For fitting the handle, a metal hammer wedge No. 3 with article number 651425 is recommended.

This ATLAS hammer handle complies with the DIN5111 standard.

ATLAS hammer handles are made from ash wood lower trunks, which contain the best timber. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process sawn ash wood planks are air-dried. During the second process the ash wood is re-dried in a computer-controlled climate chamber. By re-drying the handle does not shrink and the hammer head remains firmly fixed to the handle.

Next the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its attractive natural light color. Waxing provides a longer lifespan and a pleasant smooth handle, thereby preventing blisters. Moreover, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
