Due to the oval shape of the handle, the hammer head is always in the correct striking direction. For mounting the handle a metal hammer wedge No. 2 with article number 651415 is recommended.

Hickory is a heavy and hard American wood species that is even stronger than ash wood. Hickory wood is particularly tough, shock-resistant and resilient. The ATLAS Hickory handle is also waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its attractive light natural color. The waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, preventing blisters. Moreover, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
ATLAS Hickory hammer handles are, for the most part, manufactured energy-neutral in the Netherlands and are available in various lengths and configurations.
