Rubber mallet handle ATLAS of ash wood with head size 39 x 34 mm and length 40 cm. This handle is suitable for ATLAS rubber mallets no.4 with article numbers 998745, 998690 and 998740. Because of the oval shape of the handle the hammer head always aligns in the correct striking direction. No pin or wedge is needed to mount the handle.

ATLAS rubber mallet handles are made from ash under-stems, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process the sawn ash planks are air-dried. During the second process the ash is re-dried in a climate chamber under computer control. Due to the re-drying the handle does not shrink and the hammer head remains firmly attached to the handle.

Next the ATLAS handle is waxed with vegetable carnauba. This ensures the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt and retains its attractive natural color. The waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasant smooth handle, preventing blisters. Moreover, vegetable waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
