The handle of the ATLAS stoning hammer is made of hickory wood. Hickory is a heavy, hard American timber that is even stronger than ash wood. Hickory wood is particularly tough, shock-resistant and resilient. The ATLAS hickory handle is also waxed with plant-based carnauba, which allows the wood to breathe, prevents it from absorbing water or dirt, and preserves its beautiful natural color. The oval shape of the handle ensures the hammer head is always in the correct striking orientation.
