Scoop shovel ATLAS 1/2 1, unhardened and blasted, without handle
Scoop shovel ATLAS Dutch model with 1/2 socket bent and blade size 1 is supplied without handle. The unhardened blade has a shot-blasted finish.
Explanation of socket position
The socket angle indicates the angle relative to the blade. The higher the socket angle, the more inclined the socket is. This determines whether a shovel or spade is designed for digging in or for scooping. The socket angle is measured from the ground to the socket when the blade lies flat on the ground.
Straight: the handle is almost straight with the blade.
1/4: the socket is bent up 35 mm, for example for digging shovels
1/2: the socket is bent up 55 mm, for example for scoop shovels and concrete shovels
3/4: the socket is bent up 70 cm, for example on scoop shovels and deep shovels
Explanation of blade width
In the past there were blade widths that ran from number 2 down to 0, with 2 being the largest. Over time the blades had to be made smaller because of working conditions, and smaller size ranges were introduced.
The blade sizes for shovels and spades are from largest to smallest: 2 – 1 – 0 – 00 – 000
