Digging shovel ATLAS DIAMANT, Drents model with socket position 1/4 bent and blade size 000, complete with fiberglass shovel handle in length 95 cm. The polished blade is hardened, has a sharp cutting edge and is equipped with round treads. Thanks to the step, footwear is not damaged.


Explanation of socket setting
The socket angle indicates the angle relative to the blade. The higher the socket angle, the more inclined the socket is. This determines whether a shovel or spade is designed for stabbing or for scooping. The socket angle is measured from the ground up to the socket, with the blade lying flat on the ground.

Straight: the handle is almost straight with the blade
1/4: the socket is bent up 35 mm, for example for digging shovels.
1/2: the socket is bent up 55 mm, for example for scoop shovels and concrete shovels
3/4: the socket is bent up 70 cm, for example on scoop shovels and deep shovels

Explanation of blade width
In the past there were blade widths that ran from number 2 down to 0, with 2 being the largest. Over time the blades had to be made smaller because of working conditions, and smaller sizing systems were introduced.

The blade sizes for shovels and spades are from largest to smallest: 2 – 1 – 0 – 00 – 000
