This gooseneck shovel handle is usually used with a straight digging shovel or Drenthe model shovel.
ATLAS gooseneck shovel handle made of ash wood, lightly bent T-handle with a length of 100 cm, with a strong through-mount T-grip. Gooseneck shovel handles can be recognized by the thickened lower section of the handle. The thickened lower section makes the handle extra strong and ensures a secure grip. This lightly bent gooseneck shovel handle is usually used together with a straight digging shovel or Drenthe model shovel.
ATLAS gooseneck shovel handles are made from ash trunk wood, which contains the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing, and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process, sawn ash wood boards are air-dried. During the second process, the ash wood is computer-controlled re-dried in a climate chamber. Because of the re-drying, the handle does not shrink, the tool stays firmly attached to the handle, and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or staples.
The ATLAS handle is then waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This allows the wood to breathe, prevents it from absorbing water or dirt, and preserves its attractive natural color. The waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, helping prevent blisters. In addition, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
ATLAS gooseneck shovel handles are manufactured entirely carbon-neutral in the Netherlands and are available in various lengths and versions.
