Atlas spade handle or spade handle made of ash wood, straight T-handle, length 90 cm, with a strong through-mount T-grip and fitted with a smooth, angled point. This handle is suitable, among other things, for Polet spades and shovels with double springs. Two rivets are required for installation (see item number 651620, also for the installation advice).
Atlas spade handles are made from ash trunks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing, and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process, sawn ash wood planks are air-dried. During the second process, the ash wood is computer-controlled re-dried in a climate chamber. Thanks to the re-drying process, the handle does not shrink, tools remain firmly attached to the handle, and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or staples.
Next, the Atlas handle is waxed with plant-based carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its beautiful natural color. Waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, helping to prevent blisters. In addition, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than the use of varnish or paraffin.
Atlas spade handles are manufactured entirely carbon-neutral in the Netherlands.
