Spade handle ATLAS made of ash wood, straight T-handle with a length of 90 cm, with a strong through-mount T-grip and a smooth, angled point. This handle is suitable, among other things, for Polet spades and shovels with double springs. For assembly, two rivets are required (see item number 651620, also for the assembly advice).
ATLAS spade handles are made from ash rootstock, which contains the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing, and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process, sawn ash wood planks are air-dried. During the second process, the ash wood is computer-controlled re-dried in a climate chamber. Because of the re-drying, the handle does not shrink, the tool stays firmly attached to the handle, and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or a staple.
Next, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This allows the wood to breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its beautiful natural color. The waxing ensures a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, which helps prevent blisters. Moreover, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
ATLAS spade handles are manufactured entirely in the Netherlands with energy neutrality.
