ATLAS spade handle made of ash wood, 90 cm long, equipped with a strong through-mount T-grip. This handle is suitable for a garden spade (item number 828600).
ATLAS spade handles are made from ash rootstock, which contains the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-resistant, and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process, sawn ash wood boards are air-dried. During the second process, the ash wood is computer-controlled kiln-dried in a climate chamber. Because of the re-drying, the handle does not shrink, tools stay firmly attached to the handle, and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or a staple.
The ATLAS handles are then waxed with plant-based carnauba. This allows the wood to breathe, prevents it from absorbing water or dirt, and helps it retain its beautiful natural color. Waxing extends the service life and creates a pleasantly smooth handle, helping prevent blisters. In addition, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
ATLAS spade handles are manufactured entirely energy-neutral in the Netherlands and are available in various lengths and versions.
