ATLAS straight axe handle made of ash wood, with eye size 76 x 32 mm and length 110 cm. This extra-long axe handle is suitable for heavy forged axes. For mounting the handle, the axe wedge set with item number 651815 is recommended (wooden wedge 70 x 80 mm and 2 metal wedges no. 4 22 mm).

ATLAS axe handles are made from ash butt logs, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing, and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process, sawn ash wood planks are air-dried. During the second process, the ash wood is computer-controlled redried in a climate chamber. Thanks to the redrying, the handle does not shrink and the axe head remains firmly attached to the handle.

Next, the ATLAS handle is waxed with vegetable-based Carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its beautiful pale color. Waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, helping to prevent blisters. Moreover, waxing handles with vegetable-based wax is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
