Splitting maul handle ATLAS 90 cm, head size 50 x 30 mm

Splitting maul handle or splitting axe handle ATLAS made of ash wood, with head size 50 x 30 mm and length 90 cm. Because of the oval shape of the handle the axe head is always in the correct striking orientation. For mounting the handle two metal hammer wedges No. 4a with article number 651455 are recommended.

ATLAS splitting maul handles are made from ash wood lower trunks; these contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process sawn ash wood planks are air-dried. During the second process the ash wood is computer-controlled re-dried in a climate chamber. Due to the re-drying the handle does not shrink and the axe head remains firmly fixed to the handle.

Subsequently the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt and retains its beautiful pale colour. The waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasant smooth handle, thereby preventing blisters. Moreover, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.

ATLAS splitting maul handles are manufactured entirely energy-neutral in the Netherlands and are available in various lengths and configurations.
