This handle is suitable for the ATLAS rubber mallet Rotterdam model without hole or bracket (article number 998810). Because of the oval shape of the handle the hammer head always aligns in the correct striking direction. No wedge or wooden pin is needed to mount the handle.
Hickory is a heavy, hard American wood species that is even stronger than ash wood. Hickory wood is particularly tough, shock-resistant and resilient. The ATLAS hickory handle is also waxed with plant-based carnauba. This ensures the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its beautiful natural color. The waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasant smooth handle, preventing blisters. Moreover, waxing handles with a plant-based wax is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
