Due to the oval shape of the handle, the hammer head is always in the correct striking direction. No pin or wedge is required for mounting the handle.
Hickory is a heavy and hard American wood species that is even stronger than ash wood. Hickory wood is particularly tough, shock-resistant and resilient. The ATLAS hickory handle is also waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt and retains its beautiful natural color.
