Engineer's hammer handle ATLAS 100 grams, head size 10 x 17 mm according to DIN 5111
Engineer's hammer handle ATLAS made of ash wood for a 100 gram engineer's hammer, with head size 10 x 17 mm and length 27 cm. Due to the oval shape of the handle the hammer head is always in the correct striking direction. For mounting the handle a metal hammer wedge no.2 with article number 651415 is recommended.
This ATLAS hammer handle complies with the DIN5111 standard.
ATLAS hammer handles are made from the lower trunks of ash trees, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process sawn ash planks are air-dried. During the second process the ash wood is re-dried in a climate chamber under computer control. By re-drying the handle does not shrink and the hammer head remains firmly attached to the handle.
Next the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt and retains its beautiful natural color. The waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasant smooth handle, preventing blisters. Moreover, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than the use of varnish or paraffin.
ATLAS hammer handles are manufactured entirely energy-neutral in the Netherlands and are available in various lengths and versions.
