The Atlas ash wood handle is waxed with the plant-based Carnauba and ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its beautiful light color. In addition, Carnauba wax provides a pleasantly smooth handle, which helps prevent blisters. An important advantage of waxed handles is the extended lifespan of the garden tool and thus its durability. The plant-based waxing of handles is also much better for the environment than varnish/paraffin. Atlas handles are made in the Netherlands from ash understock, which contains the best wood, after two drying processes, completely energy neutral. During the first drying process, sawn ash wood boards are air-dried on battens, after which they are computer-controlled dried again in a climate chamber in the second process.
