Engineer’s hammer handle ATLAS 400 grams, head size 14 x 24 mm according to DIN 5111
Engineer's hammer handle ATLAS made of ash wood for a 400-gram engineer's hammer, with head size 14 x 24 mm and length 31 cm. Due to the oval shape of the handle, the hammer head is always in the correct striking direction. For mounting the handle, a metal hammer wedge No. 3 with article number 651425 is recommended.
This ATLAS hammer handle complies with the DIN5111 standard.
ATLAS hammer handles are made from ash wood butt sections, which contain the best timber. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process sawn ash wood planks are air-dried. During the second process the ash wood is re-dried in a climate chamber under computer control. Because of the re-drying the handle does not shrink and the hammer head remains firmly attached to the handle.
Next the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This allows the wood to breathe, prevents it from absorbing water or dirt and preserves the attractive natural colour. Waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasant smooth handle, which prevents blisters. Moreover, waxing handles with a plant-based wax is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
ATLAS hammer handles are manufactured completely energy-neutral in the Netherlands and are available in various lengths and variants.
