The handle of the ATLAS stoning hammer is made of hickory. Hickory is a heavy and hard American wood species that is even stronger than ash wood. Hickory is particularly tough, shock-resistant and resilient. The ATLAS hickory handle is also waxed with plant-based carnauba. This ensures the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its beautiful natural light color. Because of the oval shape of the handle, the hammer head is always in the correct striking orientation.
