Engineer’s hammer handle ATLAS made of ash wood for a 300 gram engineer’s hammer, with head size 12.5 x 21.5 mm and length 30 cm. Due to the oval shape of the handle, the hammer head is always positioned in the correct striking direction. For mounting the handle, a metal hammer wedge no. 3 with article number 651425 is recommended.
This ATLAS hammer handle complies with DIN5111 standards.
ATLAS hammer handles are made from ash rootstock, which contains the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing, and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process, sawn ash wood planks are air-dried. During the second process, the ash wood is computer-controlled re-dried in a climate chamber. Because of this re-drying, the handle does not shrink and the hammer head remains firmly fixed to the handle.
Next, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This allows the wood to breathe, prevents it from absorbing water or dirt, and preserves its beautiful natural color. The waxing ensures a longer service life and a pleasant smooth handle, helping prevent blisters. In addition, the plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
ATLAS hammer handles are manufactured entirely carbon-neutrally in the Netherlands and are available in various lengths and versions.
