The extra-hardened blade is blue lacquered and has a bare, polished, sharp edge. Thanks to the non-stick coating, soil and sand come off the blade more easily. The pointed shape of the cable shovel reduces resistance, making shoveling easy.

The ATLAS shovel handle is made from ash wood rootstock, which contains the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing, and strong. The ash wood is computer-controlled and re-dried in a climate chamber. This prevents the handle from shrinking, keeps the tool firmly attached to the handle, and allows the through-mount T-grip to be pressed onto the handle without glue or staples. ATLAS handles are bent in boiling water. This allows the wood grain in the handle to bend along with it and prevents the grain from running out of the handle. The bending process makes the handle extremely strong. In addition, the ATLAS handle is waxed with the plant-based Carnauba, which ensures a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, helping prevent blisters.
