Due to the oval shape of the handle, the hammer head always sits in the correct striking direction. For mounting the handle, two metal hammer wedges no. 3 with article number 651425 are recommended.
Hickory is a heavy and hard American wood species that is even stronger than ash. Hickory wood is particularly tough, shock-resistant, and resilient. The ATLAS hickory handle is also waxed with the plant-based Carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its beautiful light color. The waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasant, smooth handle, helping prevent blisters. Moreover, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
