Concrete shovel ATLAS 1/2 0 red, extra hardened, with ATLAS shovel handle 110 cm bent
The straight front of this concrete shovel is ideal for scooping off and leveling surfaces.
Concrete shovel ATLAS with socket position 1/2 bent up, blade size 0 and straight edge. Complete with a bent ATLAS shovel handle 110 cm long, fitted with a through-mount T-grip. The red lacquered blade is extra hardened. This concrete shovel is often used by paving contractors, infrastructure companies and landscapers.
Thanks to the straight front of the ATLAS concrete shovel, it can be perfectly used for leveling or for evenly scooping off a sand bed or roadbed.
An Atlas shovel handle is bent in boiling water.
The ASH ATLAS shovel handle is made from ash rootstocks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood has been re-dried in a computer-controlled climate chamber. As a result, the handle does not shrink, the tool remains firmly attached to the handle, and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or staples.
ATLAS handles are bent in boiling water. This causes the wood grain or fiber in the handle to bend as well and prevents the grain from running out of the handle. The bending process makes the handle extremely strong. In addition, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba, which ensures a longer lifespan and a pleasantly smooth handle, preventing blisters.
Explanation of socket angle
The socket angle indicates the angle relative to the blade. The higher the socket angle, the more inclined the socket is. This determines whether the tool is designed for stabbing (digging) or for scooping. The socket angle is measured from the ground to the socket when the blade is lying flat on the ground.
Straight: the handle stands almost straight on the blade
1/4: the socket is bent up 35 mm, for example for digging shovels
1/2: the socket is bent up 55 mm, for example for scoop shovels and concrete shovels
3/4: the socket is bent up 70 cm, for example for scoop shovels and deep shovels
Explanation of blade width
In the past there were blade widths that ran from number 2 down to 0, with 2 being the largest. Over time the blades had to be made smaller due to working conditions and smaller size standards were introduced.
The blade sizes for shovels and spades from large to small are: 2 – 1 – 0 – 00 – 000
