ATLAS D-handle of ash wood, bent handle with a length of 95 cm. This handle is often used together with a potato fork, beet fork, silage fork, rubble fork, or grain shovel. The comfortable D-grip and strong handle are manufactured from a single piece by a CNC-controlled machine. The grip of the D-handle is reinforced with a metal pin.
ATLAS D-handles are made from ash rootstocks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing, and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process, sawn ash wood boards are air-dried. During the second process, the ash wood is computer-controlled re-dried in a climate chamber. Because of the re-drying, the handle does not shrink, keeping tools firmly attached to the handle.
The ATLAS handle is then waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This allows the wood to breathe, prevents it from absorbing water or dirt, and helps it retain its beautiful natural color. Waxing provides a longer lifespan and a pleasantly smooth handle, helping prevent blisters. In addition, waxing handles with plant-based wax is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
ATLAS D-handles are manufactured entirely energy-neutrally in the Netherlands and are available in various lengths and versions.
