Plastic D-handle ATLAS of ash wood, straight handle with plastic D-grip in length 95 cm. This handle is specially pointed for an STR grain shovel, STR ballast shovel or the blue
steel
ballast shovel. The comfortable PD-grip of this handle consists of a strong plastic grip fitted with an ash wood handgrip. This handle is often used together with a grain shovel, ballast shovel or rubble fork.
ATLAS PD-handles are made from ash butt sections, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbent and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process sawn ash planks are air-dried. During the second process the ash wood is re-dried in a climate chamber under computer control. Because of the re-drying the handle does not shrink, and tools remain securely attached to the handle.
Next the ATLAS handle is waxed with the plant-based Carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt and retains its beautiful natural color. The waxing results in a longer service life and a pleasant smooth handle, which prevents blisters. Moreover, the plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
ATLAS PD-handles are manufactured completely energy-neutral in the Netherlands and are available in different lengths and versions.
