DE WIT drainagespade or drainage scoop with half-round blade and ATLAS handle.
Drainagespade or drainage scoop DE WIT, forged, half-round blade 9 cm wide and 40 cm long, complete with ATLAS handle, 170 cm long and 3.2 cm in diameter.
A Drainagespade is used to level or grade the bottom of an excavated trench, a process also called "spade-drawing". A Drainagespade is used, among other things, for laying drainage, sewer pipes, and irrigation.
The drainagespade is fitted with a long, strong ATLAS handle. ATLAS handles are made from ash wood rootstocks, which contain the best timber. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes. Because of the re-drying, the handle does not shrink, and the tool remains firmly fixed to the handle.
Finally, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its beautiful natural colour.
