hickory is a heavy and hard American wood species that is even stronger than ash wood. Hickory wood is particularly tough, shock-resistant and resilient. The ATLAS hickory handle is also waxed with plant-based carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its attractive pale natural color. Waxing provides a longer lifespan and a pleasantly smooth handle, which helps prevent blisters.
