The handle of the ATLAS engineer’s hammer is made of hickory wood. Hickory is a heavy and hard American wood species that is even stronger than ash wood. Hickory wood is exceptionally tough, shock-resistant, and resilient. The ATLAS hickory handle is also waxed with the plant-based Carnauba wax. This allows the wood to breathe, prevents it from absorbing water or dirt, and helps preserve its attractive natural color. Thanks to the oval shape of the handle, the hammer head is always aligned in the correct striking direction.
