OFFNER grain shovel, aluminium, without wear strip and bent
ATLAS plastic D-handle with a length of 95 cm.
The aluminium blade is extra hardened by the addition of
manganese, which prevents premature wear on the underside and sides. OFFNER grain shovels are very strong, lightweight, and ideal for scooping up large, light volumes.
ATLAS plastic D-handles are made from ash wood rootstock,
which contains the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing, and strong. The
ash wood undergoes two drying processes. By redrying, the
handle does not shrink, and the tool stays firmly attached to the handle.
Next, the ATLAS plastic D-handles are bent in boiling water. This allows the
wood grain or fiber in the handle to follow the bend, preventing the grain from running out of the handle (a running grain is weaker). The bending process makes the handle
extremely strong.
Finally, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This
allows the wood to breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its beautiful
natural color.
