Ash wood Atlas handle in a length of 100 cm, suitable for the Block paving hammer with hole. This ash handle is 10 cm longer than the metal handle that comes standard in the Block paving hammer. This allows you to stand more upright while striking, which provides a better working posture.
Atlas hammer handles are made from ash rootstock, which contains the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing, and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process, sawn ash wood planks are air-dried. During the second process, the ash wood is computer-controlled kiln-dried in a climate chamber. By redrying, the handle does not shrink and the hammer head remains firmly attached to the handle.
Next, the Atlas handle is waxed with plant-based carnauba. This allows the wood to breathe, prevents it from absorbing water or dirt, and preserves its beautiful natural color. Waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, which helps prevent blisters. In addition, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
Atlas handles are manufactured entirely energy-neutral in the Netherlands.
