Thanks to the extra-thick handle, the user needs to grip less hard to hold the hammer properly. This provides better grip while striking.
The handle is made of Hickory wood. This is a heavy and hard American wood species that is even stronger than ash wood. Hickory wood is exceptionally tough, shock-resistant, and resilient. The hammer handle is comfortably smooth finished and waxed with plant-based wax. The waxing gives the handle a longer service life, makes it feel pleasantly smooth, and helps prevent blisters.
