The handle is made of Hickory wood. This is a heavy and hard American wood species that is even stronger than ash wood. Hickory wood is exceptionally tough, impact-resistant, and resilient. The hammer handle has a comfortably smooth finish and is waxed with plant-based wax. The waxing gives the handle a longer service life, makes it pleasantly smooth to the touch, and helps prevent blisters.
