Spade handle ATLAS made of ash wood, straight T-handle in a length of 100 cm, with a strong through-mount T-grip and equipped with a smooth, angled point. This handle is suitable, among other things, for Polet spades and shovels with double sockets. For mounting, two rivets are needed (see article number 651620, also for mounting advice).
ATLAS spade handles are made from ash rootstock, which contains the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing, and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process, sawn ash wood boards are air-dried. During the second process, the ash wood is kiln-dried in a climate-controlled chamber under computer control. Because of the re-drying, the handle does not shrink, the tool stays firmly fixed to the handle, and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or a staple.
The ATLAS handle is then waxed with the plant-based Carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its beautiful light color. The waxing provides a longer lifespan and a pleasantly smooth handle, helping prevent blisters. Moreover, waxing handles with a plant-based wax is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
