Thanks to the oval shape of the handle, the hammer head is always aligned in the correct striking direction. Hickory is a heavy and hard American wood species that is even stronger than ash wood. Hickory wood is exceptionally tough, shock-resistant, and resilient. The ATLAS hickory handle is also waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This allows the wood to breathe, prevents it from absorbing water or dirt, and preserves its beautiful light color. The waxing ensures a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, helping prevent blisters. In addition, the plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than the use of varnish or paraffin.
ATLAS hickory hammer handles are, for the most part, manufactured energy-neutrally in the Netherlands and are available in various lengths and versions.
