ATLAS shovel handle made of ash wood, straight T-handle, 130 cm in length, with a strong through-mount T-grip. A straight shovel handle is often used together with a digging shovel.
ATLAS shovel handles are made from ash wood rootstock, which contains the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing, and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process, sawn ash wood boards are air-dried. During the second process, the ash wood is computer-controlled dried back in a climate chamber. Because of this drying back, the handle does not shrink, tools stay firmly attached to the handle, and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or a staple.
The ATLAS handle is then waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This allows the wood to breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its attractive natural color. Waxing provides a longer lifespan and a pleasantly smooth handle, helping prevent blisters. Moreover, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
ATLAS shovel handles are manufactured entirely energy-neutral in the Netherlands and are available in various lengths and versions.
