PD-handle ATLAS made of ash wood, straight handle with plastic D-handle in a length of 95 cm. This handle is specially pointed for a STR grain shovel, STR ballast shovel, or the blue
handle
ballast shovel. The comfortable PD-handle of this handle consists of a strong plastic grip with an ash wood handle. This handle is often used together with a grain shovel, ballast shovel, or debris fork.
ATLAS PD-handles are made from ash rootstock, which contains the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing, and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process, sawn ash wood planks are air-dried. During the second process, the ash wood is computer-controlled re-dried in a climate chamber. Because of the re-drying, the handle does not shrink, and tools remain firmly fixed to the handle.
Next, the ATLAS handle is waxed with the plant-based Carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its beautiful light color. The waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, helping prevent blisters. Moreover, the plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
ATLAS PD-handles are manufactured entirely carbon-neutral in the Netherlands and are available in various lengths and versions.
