ATLAS plastic D-handle made of ash wood, straight handle with a plastic D-grip, length 95 cm. This handle has a milled-in point, suitable for a plastic grain shovel. The comfortable D-grip of this handle consists of a strong plastic grip with an ash wood handhold. This handle is often used together with a grain shovel, ballast shovel, or debris fork.
ATLAS plastic D-handles are made from ash rootstock, which contains the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing, and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process, sawn ash wood planks are air-dried. During the second process, the ash wood is kiln-dried under computer control in a climate chamber. Because of the re-drying, the handle does not shrink, so tools stay firmly attached to the handle.
The ATLAS handle is then waxed with plant-based carnauba wax. This allows the wood to breathe, prevents it from absorbing water or dirt, and preserves its beautiful light color. The waxing ensures a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, helping prevent blisters. In addition, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
ATLAS plastic D-handles are manufactured entirely in the Netherlands in an energy-neutral process and are available in various lengths and versions.
