ATLAS rubber mallet handle made of ash wood, with a head size of 39 x 34 mm and a length of 40 cm. This handle is suitable for ATLAS rubber mallets no. 4 with article numbers 998745, 998690 and 998740. Due to the oval shape of the handle, the hammer head is always positioned in the correct striking direction. No key or wedge is needed for mounting the handle.
ATLAS rubber mallet handles are made from ash wood rootstock, which contains the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process, sawn ash wood boards are air-dried. During the second process, the ash wood is computer-controlled re-dried in a climate chamber. Because of the re-drying, the handle does not shrink and the hammer head remains firmly attached to the handle.
The ATLAS handle is then waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This allows the wood to breathe, prevents it from absorbing water or dirt, and preserves its beautiful natural color. The waxing ensures a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, helping prevent blisters. In addition, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
ATLAS rubber mallet handles are manufactured entirely energy-neutral in the Netherlands.
