ATLAS knob handle made of ash wood, straight handle without grip, length 110 cm. This handle has an unfaced tip, suitable for Spear & Jackson spades with a socket.
ATLAS knob handles are made from ash rootstocks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing, and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process, sawn ash wood planks are air-dried. During the second process, the ash wood is kiln-dried in a climate chamber under computer control. This re-drying prevents the handle from shrinking and keeps the tool firmly attached to the handle.
The ATLAS handle is then waxed with the plant-based Carnauba. This allows the wood to breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its beautiful natural color. The waxing ensures a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, helping prevent blisters. In addition, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
ATLAS knob handles are manufactured entirely carbon-neutrally in the Netherlands and are available in various versions.
