Pickaxe handle or pick handle ATLAS made of hickory wood, with a head size of 70 x 40 mm and a length of 90 cm. Due to the oval shape of the handle, the pick always stands in the correct striking direction. Suitable, among other things, for pickaxes with item numbers 930010 and 930011. No wedges are needed to mount this handle.
Hickory is a heavy and hard American type of wood that is even stronger than ash wood. Hickory wood is exceptionally tough, shock-resistant, and resilient. The ATLAS hickory handle is also waxed with plant-based carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its beautiful natural color. The waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, preventing blisters. Moreover, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
ATLAS hickory pickaxe handles are, for the most part, energy-neutral manufactured in the Netherlands and are available in various lengths and designs.
