ATLAS ditch blade handle made of ash wood, with a length of 270 and a diameter of 4.5 cm. The handle is tapered milled and is delivered including the large sickle ring (40 x 35 mm) with item number 656900. This handle is suitable for a ditch blade, brush hook or sickle scythe (e.g. ditch blade DENKER, item number 920780).
ATLAS ditch blade handles are made from ash wood rootstock, which contains the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-resistant and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process, sawn ash wood boards are air-dried. During the second process, the ash wood is computer-controlled re-dried in a climate chamber. Because of the re-drying, the handle does not shrink and tools remain rock-solid on the handle.
The ATLAS handle is then waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This allows the wood to breathe, prevents it from absorbing water or dirt, and preserves its beautiful natural color. The waxing ensures a longer service life and a pleasant smooth handle, helping prevent blisters. In addition, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than the use of varnish or paraffin.
