Shovel handle ATLAS made of ash wood, bent T-handle in a 95 cm length, with a strong through-mount T-grip. A shovel handle is often used together with a digging shovel, concrete shovel, scoop shovel, or a cable shovel.
ATLAS shovel handles are made from ash rootstock, which contains the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing, and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process, sawn ash wood planks are air-dried. During the second process, the ash wood is kiln-dried again in a climate-controlled chamber. By redrying, the handle does not shrink, tools stay firmly fixed to the handle, and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or a staple.
Next, the ATLAS shovel handles are bent in boiling water. This causes the grain or fiber in the handle to bend with it, preventing the grain from running out of the handle (a running grain is weaker). The bending process makes the handle extremely strong.
Finally, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This allows the wood to breathe, prevents it from absorbing water or dirt, and helps it retain its beautiful natural color. Waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, helping prevent blisters. In addition, waxing handles with plant-based wax is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
ATLAS shovel handles are manufactured entirely in the Netherlands with energy neutrality and are available in various lengths and versions.
