Atlas shovel handle with scale for digging and layout work
ATLAS shovel handle with scale made of ash wood, bent T-handle in a length of 110 cm, with a strong through-mount T-grip and scale markings. A shovel handle with scale is often used together with a digging shovel, concrete shovel or a cable shovel.
The ATLAS shovel handle with scale is equipped with centimeter markings, with a marking every 5 and 10 centimeters. This makes it quick and easy to measure depth or distance when installing concrete curbs, during layout work, and for digging.
With the shovel handle with scale, depths and distances between 5 and 60 cm can be measured. Measurement is taken from the top of the grip. In a trench, the handle is placed vertically with the grip facing down along, for example, a builders line. The depth can be read directly from the scale markings.
In addition, the shovel handle with scale is useful for planting tasks. The height of a root ball and the depth of a planting hole can be easily read. It also offers a solution when digging out, for example, a foundation.
The ATLAS shovel handle with scale is popular among paving contractors, landscapers, infrastructure companies, and in civil engineering and waterworks.
The quality of an ATLAS shovel handle with scale
An ATLAS shovel handle with scale is made from ash rootstock, which contains the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing, and strong. The ash wood is carefully re-dried under controlled conditions. By re-drying, the handle does not shrink, tools stay firmly attached to the handle, and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or a staple.
For a comfortable working posture, an ATLAS shovel handle with scale is bent. The handle is bent in boiling water. This causes the wood grain or fiber in the handle to follow the bend, preventing the grain from running out of the handle (a running grain is weaker).
Finally, the ATLAS handle is waxed with the plant-based Carnauba. This allows the wood to breathe and prevents it from absorbing water or dirt.
ATLAS handles are manufactured entirely energy-neutral in the Netherlands and are available in various lengths and versions.
