The strong blade of this grain shovel is made entirely of plastic. As a result, it barely scratches the surface and makes less noise than an aluminium or steel version. The plastic ATLAS grain shovel is ideal for scooping large volumes of light material such as wood shavings, snow, feed, or garden waste.
The plastic ATLAS grain shovel is also available with an ATLAS shovel handle of 130 cm, a fully plastic handle, and without a handle.
ATLAS PD-handles are made from ash wood rootstock, which contains the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing, and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes. By redrying, the handle does not shrink, and tools stay firmly attached to the handle.
Next, the ATLAS PD-handles are bent in boiling water. This causes the wood grain in the handle to bend along with it and prevents the grain from running out of the handle (a running grain is weaker). The bending process makes the handle extremely strong.
Finally, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its beautiful light color.
