This strong forged spade is also known as a trenching spade or drainage spade. The spade is ideal for digging a narrow trench for, for example, underground cable, irrigation, or drainage. Thanks to the slightly pointed blade, the spade easily penetrates the soil. Because of the length of the blade, the trench can be made deep enough with ease, so cables and pipes are at a safe depth.
ATLAS spade handles are made from ash rootstocks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-resistant, and strong. The handle is fitted with an almost unbreakable 21 mm thick fiberglass reinforcement. This fiberglass rod is milled into the underside of the handle.
