This strong forged spade is also called a trenching spade or drainagespade. The spade is ideal for digging a narrow trench for, for example, underground cable, irrigation, or drainage. Thanks to the slightly tapered blade, the spade easily penetrates the soil. Because of the length of the blade, the trench can easily be made sufficiently deep so that cables and pipes can be laid at a safe depth.
The blade has a sharp polished edge. This reduces resistance when digging and causes less soil to stick to the blade. The large round treads prevent damage to footwear while digging. Because of the round shape of the step, it won't snag on anything.
