Hammer wedges are used for mounting the hammer handle in striking tools. The hammer wedge is stepped (3D) tapered, making it easy to drive the wedge firmly into the handle. Because the wedge becomes progressively thicker toward the top, the handle expands and the hammer head is clamped evenly on all sides so it cannot come off. Hammer wedges round 3D taper are available in various sizes and in Flat 3D model taper. Depending on the head size of the handle, the correct size hammer wedge should be chosen.
