This makes it easy to drive the wedge firmly into the handle. Because the wedge becomes thicker toward the top, the handle expands and the hammer handle is clamped so that the hammer head cannot come loose. 3D Tapered hammer wedges are available in various sizes and in round model tapered. Depending on the head size of the handle, the correct size hammer wedge should be selected.
