ATLAS fencing maul handles are made from ash wood rootstock, which contains the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes. By drying back, the handle does not shrink and the head remains firmly fixed to the handle. Next, the ATLAS handle is waxed with the plant-based Carnauba. This allows the wood to breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its beautiful natural color. The waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, helping prevent blisters.
